When I was asked if I would like to take part in The Sexy Librarian Blog Tour I jumped at the chance, and couldn’t wait to get reading. As someone who loves books, and practically lived in the library as a kid, this grown-up version of a library collection sounded right up my street, and my hopes were high. I was not disappointed.
For a start Rose Caraway opened her introduction with a fantastic quote from one of my all-time favourite authors,

“A short story is a different thing all together – a short story is like a kiss in the dark from a stranger.” ― Stephen King

I knew from that it was meant to be and the rest of the introduction merely whetted my appetite for what was to come.  From the first story (Book Swap by Rachel Kramer Bussel) I was completely hooked. The twenty-two stories in this collection are all hot, steamy and captivating. This book is going to live on my bedside table.

The collection is set out like a little library complete with a catalogue card at the beginning of each story giving title, author, category, and three subject points. I loved this as well as being a really nice touch it was good to have an idea of what the story contained so you know whether it is something that interests you or not. Although I found all the stories fascinating even if they contained things that don’t generally….float my boat. There is a brilliant range of erotic genres in this collection from science-fiction (Lauren’s Journey by DL King had me enthralled) to Superheroes (POW! It’s Shibari Girl! by Tamsin Flowers was fun and sexy) to Greek mythology (Three Legs in the Evening by Janine Ashbless was a fascinating spin on a known story) to Kink (Kay Jaybee’s Taped had me squirming). I especially loved Full-Frontal Neighbour by Lynn Townsend, a touching and beautiful story of triumphing over trauma. Made my heart full and my cunt throb.

I really loved the range of genres within this one book, it made me feel I was getting lots of books all in one. This is a book I can see myself going back to again and again, dipping into it whenever I want some inspiration and always finding something no matter what I am in the mood for. Whatever you are into, whatever you kink this book has something for everyone.

Overall: I really loved this book, and am more than happy to recommend you go out and buy it now. I think there is something to please everyone in this book, there wasn’t one story that disappointed me, not one.

  1. It’s so cool how a ton of different types of erotica are included in the book. Erotica can be taken into many different directions. And I’m a big fan of Stephen King, too. His casual, easy flowing writing is what I strive for.
