With touch-sensors that respond to your every squeeze, the Lelo LUNA Smart Bead measures your orgasm potential and sets a routine that’s right for you.

LELO LUNA Smart Bead.
I’d been curious about the Lelo LUNA Smart Bead, since the first time I read about it, so when LELO contacted me to ask if I’d like to review it for them I jumped at the chance.
The idea behind the LUNA Smart Bead is that it measures and remembers the strength of your pelvic floor muscles, and devises a program that will work for you, helping strengthen the muscles no matter what level you are already at. It can also be used as a vibrating massager. LELO says as you use the Smart Bead over weeks and months, it automatically monitors your progress and adjusts the frequency of vibrations as muscles develop.
The Lelo LUNA Smart Bead has five built-in exercises designed to train your pelvic floor muscles, giving you longer stronger orgasms. Level 1 is the beginner level designed for the uninitiated who haven’t practised kegel exercising before. And it goes up to Level 5 which is the Master level, for the kegel master with excellent pelvic strength, and maximum control. The first time you use it the Smart Bead starts at level 3 and after first use will work out which level you need to be on, and remember it for next time.
If you want to check your progress when you switch it on you just count the number of flashes, one flash for level 1, five for level 5. Once you switch on the Smart Bead you have 30 seconds to insert it before the program starts, this is plenty of time to get it inserted and comfortable. I found it easiest to lay on my back and insert it that way. I also found this was the best position for doing the exercises, and it was easy to set aside five minutes each morning to do the exercises. It will vibrate three times quickly when it is about to start, and after that you just need to contract or ‘squeeze’ the Smart Bead each time it vibrates, relaxing when it stops. You repeat this until the routine is complete, when it will do the three quick vibrations again before switching itself off.
Now I’ve been using the Fun Factory Smart Balls very happily for quite a few years now, and have been told (by more than one guy) that I am quite tight, so I was interested to see what the LELO LUNA Smart Bead would decide. I was pretty surprised when it put me at level two after the first use. However, it seemed to move me ‘up levels’ very quickly so assuming it was just a glitch with the first session. I can’t say it has made a huge difference to my orgasms or kegel strength but then I was already a regular kegel exerciser.
Things I liked:
- The vibrations are a good way of reminding you when to tense and release
- The program to help you ‘get stronger’
- I found having something to squeeze helped with exactly which muscles to contract
- The idea of having something to make doing the exercises a bit more fun, it felt like a challenge
- Good quality build with LELO’s gorgeous soft feel silicone
- Waterproof for easy cleaning
Things I didnt:
- It says it can be used as a normal vibrator but for me the vibration is just too weak for that
- The join where you get to the battery compartment – I found this collected……internal fluids. So makes me wonder about the waterproof claim
- The price – For a battery run vibrating item it is expensive. I would expect it to be rechargeable for this sort of money
I did actually like the LELO LUNA Smart Bead. It’s a fun item, that makes those ‘boring’ exercises we women are told to do a bit more fun and interesting. I would be interested to see if LELOcould come up with a rechargeable version so that it was truly waterproof.
This toy is great for beginners and those who want a bit more guidance on strengthening their pelvic floor muscles.
