This is a product review of the Lovehoney Cupid’s Silent Smoothie 6.5 inch Vibrator

I bought this when my old vibrator died and I needed a cheap replacement. I prefer quiet vibes because I find the really buzzy ones distracting, and this was the cheapest vibe that they was advertised as ‘quiet’. It is rigid construction made of skin-safe rubber and has a soft touch feel. The twist-base controller turns it on and adjusts the strength of the vibration. Which does get quite strong…..well strong for something battery-powered anyway. 😉 This vibrator is only splash-proof so can’t be used in the bath or shower. It is roughly 8 inches long and has 6.5 inches of insertable length. It does only have a 4 inch circumference so it is a fairly slimline vibrator, which would probably make it good for a beginner. It is also latex and phthalates free, so is definitely body safe (I love that Lovehoney show this information on all their sex toys).

As I have said before I am a fairly lazy masturbator so I tend to use this mostly for external stimulation, also if I’m honest I prefer something…..girthier, for penetration. But for external this is great. It is reasonably quiet, not silent but with a blanket over you it’s very quiet, you could use this if you lived in a shared house without a problem. The twist controller is easy to use and makes it very easy to control the strength of the vibrations. The vibrations seem to be fairly evenly distributed along its length which is great when using externally as the shape of this means you can lay it along the inside of the labia and feel the vibrations along all those nerve endings.

I only have two negatives for this item; the first is the screw cap on the battery compartment, it feels like it could easily be damaged, but considering a replacement would cost you less than £10, and you can use Lovehoney ‘Rabbit Amnesty‘ to return the defunct item and get Lovehoney points for it, it doesn’t have to be a rabbit they accept any vibrator.  The big downside for me is batteries…..it takes two size C batteries. And it eats them fast, I’ve found the best for getting the most are Energizer High Tech, I can get hours of play from them. The worst were Duracell barely got one hour before the power was so low it felt like nothing was happening. Even Wilkos own performed better than that.

OVERALL:  I think this is a reasonable toy for the price you pay. It will do the job and would be an excellent ‘starter’ toy for someone new to sex toys.
